We are currently looking for: Preschool Teacher: shift 9am-5:30pm

Act as a team member to collaborate with fellow LPF staff to create an environment to reflect a passion for French, uphold the core values of NAEYC practices, and respect the cultural values and diversity of the children and families served.

Provide consistent, responsive, and respectful care to the children as a primary caregiver; and is responsible for the safety, care, supervision of all children in the preschool.

Develop and is responsible for the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Efficiently manage the children and maintain age appropriate behavior in the classroom

Acts a role model for parents and children. S/he shares information about child development, is current on theories of useful early childhood practices, and encourages family participation in the classroom.

Attend meetings as directed by director

Participate in school functions that extend beyond normal school hours but are necessary for the welfare of the school, including but not limited to school tours and back-to-school nights.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, excellent written and verbal skills, and complete tasks independently and in a timely manner.

Exhibits and models a professional appearance and attitude. Must be a team player and flexible to changes when asked.

Bilingual in French/English. Ideally, French as a first language.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

12 ECE units covering Child Development; Child, Family and Community; DAP Curriculum, with minimum 2 years teaching experience (less experience will be considered for the right candidate willing to be trained)

Or A.A. in Child Development or ECE or related field, plus 1 year of teaching experience,

Or B.A. in Child Development or ECE or related field, plus 1 year of teaching experience,

CPR and first aid certifications. Ideally, CPR training must be EMSA certified (these can be completed within 90 days of hire date)
COMPENSATION:
Competitive hourly rate ($21 to $30 depending on qualification and experience), overtime, healthcare insurance (including dental and vision, employer pays 90% of premium), paid holidays (including during school closures, about 5 weeks total), sick pay, tuition reimbursement is available for ongoing professional development, monthly lunch, eligible for health benefits after 90 days.
